For children like Ayichew, life is a lot more hopeful – thanks to you.
Five-year-old Ayichew was born with Down syndrome. Living in poverty meant he could never go to school or receive support just to be able to walk.
But thanks to supporters like you, Ayichew began to receive medical treatment, physiotherapy and specialist support through our Bridge the Gap project in Ethiopia. No one should be left behind, and with your incredible support they won’t be. The project has restored hope to Ayichew’s mother, who says she firmly believes he will walk one day soon.
With your support, Lydia’s hope was restored after five years of darkness

Lydia is from one of the poorest communities in Malawi. So when she began losing her vision in her fifties, there seemed to be no hope of restoring it. Five years passed, and she gradually lost her sight.
But then – thanks to you – the impossible happened. A CBM Outreach Clinic visited Lydia’s village and brought her to our partner hospital. Both of her cataracts were removed successfully and her sight was restored!
Being able to see means everything to Lydia and she has a message just for you: “I am so happy to see my grandchildren and to be independent again. I am saying a big thank you to everyone.”
