John’s Story

Today you can help us save the sight of more children like John

With a gift today you can help fund life-saving surgery to remove cataracts.

When he was only a baby, John’s parents knew something wasn’t quite right. He learned to walk but was always tripping and falling.

As he grew, John began closing one eye to focus. It was then his parents noticed the white reflection in his eye. The doctor diagnosed congenital cataract.

John is struggling in school now because of congenital cataracts. It takes him longer than his classmates to respond to his teachers. Congenital cataracts must be treated by the time a child is John’s age. After eight, it’s usually too late to correct the condition. But if it can be treated in time, the surgery is almost always successful.

The most frustrating thing is that we often have the answer! The surgery to correct his vision and restore his sight is well-known. It can be done with little fuss and in a short period of time. Please donate today to help giving sight saving surgery to children like John.

That miracle is out of his family’s reach now. But you can help today. Will you join other caring people and send a gift now?
