Ireland’s Minister for Overseas Development visits CCBRT Disability Hospital

Ireland's Minister for Overseas Development, Mr. Peter Power, T.D, today visited CCBRT Disability Hospital in Dar es Salaam a partner organization of CBM Ireland. The Minister, accompanied by H.E Anne Barrington, Ireland's Ambassador to Tanzania, chatted to staff and patients on the eye and orthopaedic wards.

Ireland, as part of its commitment to support disability issues in Tanzania, has provided funding of €1.3 million to CCBRT since 2007.

Haika Mawalla, Deputy Chief Executive at CCBRT said: "We are delighted that Minister Power came to visit CCBRT to find out more about the variety of surgical and rehabilitative services we provide for people with disabilities. Ireland has been a committed and valued partner to CCBRT by supporting us with core funding since 2007. We hope that our relationship will continue to grow."
