Summary:

This Community rehabilitation programme for people with disabilities in Tanzania is the largest of its kind in Tanzania. It caters for the Eastern regions, Central, North and Zanzibar.

Local people benefit from orthopaedic and eye surgery through this programme, as well as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Additional follow-up services are provided where needed and children are mainstreamed into education, when they would otherwise have no opportunity to receive formal education. A comprehensive follow-up service is a priority of this programme.
