Al Za’atari camp in Jordan

More than 500,000 Syrian refugees are living in Jordan. CBM and its partners are supporting persons with disabilities in Al Za’atari camp.

CBM is supporting refugees with disabilities

In Syria, we are facing one the largest humanitarian crises of the century. Out of two million Syrian refugees, more than 500,000 are living in Jordan. CBM and its partners are working in Al Za’atari camp, one of the biggest refugee camps in the world with more than 120,000 refugees.

According to the UN, an average of almost 5,000 Syrians are fleeing into neighbouring countries every day. The consequences of Syria’s war extend beyond its borders, as violence threatens to destabilise the whole region.
Among the most vulnerable populations in the camp, CBM and its partners focus on the individual needs of persons with disabilities, which are often overlooked.

CBM Emergency Response Unit and its partner are currently working every day in the camp: thanks to our programme, refugees with sensorial and intellectual disabilities have access to rehabilitation services and adapted health care.
