You brought food, relief and hope to victims of the Gaza crisis

Thanks to you, 2,129 families received emergency food packs and hygiene kits. 358 of the families we helped included people with disabilities.

Last July 2014, political turmoil and violence in Gaza erupted.

1,800 families - over 14,000 people - were forced to flee their homes. These families had no choice but to seek warmth and safety in government buildings and private shelters. Thanks to you, CBM responded to this emergency quickly, bringing food and other life-saving items to the victims caught up in the horror of the conflict.

Our partner on the ground set up five easy to reach distribution points in central and Northern Gaza, where families could access emergency supplies. CBM distributed food packs containing items such as canned beef, cheese, jam, and milk powder – enough to feed a family of five for five days. We also gave out hygiene packs containing ten-day rations of soap, towels, and shampoo.

Your generosity has brought food, warmth and shelter to innocent families as they struggle to recover from the crisis in Gaza

How you’re giving children in Gaza opportunities for a better future

Children in the Gaza Strip who are hearing-impaired are benefiting from an innovative new programme – funded by people like you.

Run through the Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children, the programme provides counselling, speech therapy, playgroup and therapeutic activity sessions for children like ten-year old Abdulrahman, who is blind and deaf.

During the political upheaval in Gaza last July, Abdulrahman and his family lost their home and were forced to flee.
For the first time since the conflict unfolded, Abdulrahman has started to smile again, thanks to regular counselling, and his playgroup sessions. Through activities such as face painting, storytelling, and games, Abdulrahman is slowly coming out of his shell, and recovering from the horror he’s lived through.

He enjoys learning with his classmates, and thanks to the support he’s receiving through the programme, he’s starting to look forward to the future. He dreams of becoming an artist.

Thank you for helping the youngest and most vulnerable victims of the Gaza Crisis.
