CBM in numbers
By providing comprehensive aid and support to people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world to reduce poverty and ensure empowerment and inclusion, CBM with partners reached 38.9 million persons in 2015. CBM offers help and intervention irrespective of religion and actively promotes inclusion of women and girls.
A global operation
Together with the support of over 691,600 active supporters/ donors from 11 Member Associations and a programme expenditure of 66.7 Million euros, CBM reached 38.9 million people in partnership with 418 partner organisations implementing 650 programmes in 63 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
38.9 Million persons were helped with medical services (medical eye services, medical services for ear and/or orthopaedic conditions and other medical diseases as well as disabilities), education and rehabilitative support, as well as against river blindness and trachoma.
An additional 49.4 million people received medication to combat non-blinding, disabling neglected tropical diseases ( NTD's) (lymphatic filariasis, soil-transmitted helminths and schistosomiasis).

Education and rehabilitation projects
927,215 people reached in 2015.
CBM promotes the access of persons with disability to education. It supports the enhancement of schools, professional training for teachers and improvement of learning materials.
An increasing number of people with disabilities are benefiting from education and community-based rehabilitation enabling them to achieve their full potential and broaden their participation in society.
186,265 people received medical training in 2015.
CBM strengthens local and national health capacities by training medical professional to reach even more patients with disability or at risk of being disabled and increase their access to quality services.

Livelihood projects
91,731 people reached in CBM supported specialised projects in 2015.
CBM promotes economic empowerment of people with disabilities via skills development and job placements. CBM advocates for making general livelihood projects inclusive, and enable the projects to also accept and support people with disabilities.

Empowerment and inclusion
- 54,587 government representatives and representative of non-governmental and civil society organisations participated in workshop on disability inclusion.
- 375,614 facilitated peer groups, self-help groups, Disabled Persons Associations (DPOs) and other art and cultural programmes.
CBM raises awareness both at governmental and community level about the rights of persons with disabilities to influence local and national policies and foster inclusion.
